West Side Growth: New Spots Worth Driving For
One of the most exciting shifts in Sioux Falls’ dining landscape is happening on the west side. The area around Lake Lorraine, Marion Road, and 41st Street has seen several vibrant openings aimed at filling culinary gaps.
Aruma Tacos & Tequila has settled into 2310 South Marion Road in the former Railbirds space. The full-service Mexican restaurant offers roughly 170 seats indoors, plus a 30-seat patio. Most entrees land in the $15–$20 range, making it a great pick for casual nights out. Menu highlights include fajitas, quesabirria, and flavorful chimichangas.
Over Easy, a brunch concept from Arizona, opened its first Sioux Falls location in Dawley Farm Village, at 18th Street and Highline Place. With seating for 130 inside and a 40-seat patio, it represents a long-needed full-service daytime restaurant in that part of town. The menu mixes classic brunch staples with bold, Southwest-inspired flavors like Chilaquiles and Monte Cristo.
Seafood lovers, rejoice: Yummy Crab is expanding into Sioux Falls and will take over the former Fazoli’s space at 4224 W. Empire Place, adding more variety to the west-side offerings. Also in the works is Ocean Buffet, a grand sushi, hibachi, and international buffet at 2600 S. Louise Ave, aimed to open late this summer.
Food Trucks & Mobile Favorites: The Local Flavor On Wheels
Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite between errands or settling in for a relaxed outdoor treat, the food truck scene in Sioux Falls keeps things vibrant.
Roscoe’s Kitchen returns as a beloved mobile option, serving smash burgers, loaded Philly cheesesteaks, hibachi burritos, tacos, and fan-favorite “Cheeto Balls.” It draws strong praise for hearty portions and full flavor without fuss.
The Corndog Company is another local staple—quick, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying. Perfect when you want something classic without a long wait. Visitors have called it the ideal fair-style escape in everyday life.
Downtown and Local Favorites That Still Shine
New restaurants may be fueling Sioux Falls’ momentum, but established favorites continue to deliver excellence.
R Wine Bar & Kitchen remains a standout for locals who crave a refined dinner—curated wine lists, seasonal dishes, upscale ambiance, and attentive service set it apart.
Carnaval Brazilian Steakhouse is the go-to for a special night out. Rodizio-style meats, vibrant flavors, and an immersive atmosphere make it memorable whether it’s a celebration or simply indulging.
Another local staple earning strong reviews is Crave. Located downtown, it’s praised for its sushi bar, elevated comfort food, and a lively bar scene. Generosity of portions and consistent quality keep regulars coming back.
